What do you mean "was" a Turk. And if so how does he fit into the rest of your family. Does that mean your mother/father is/was turkish too? Are you part kebab? So you're a jewish/gay/transgender/turkish american guy who loves anime musclegirls? #diversity

English ran out of ideas for words or something?

Croatian:
Ujak - your mothers brother
Stric - your fathers brother
Tetak - your aunts husband

English:
Uncle - your mothers brother
Uncle - your fathers brother
Uncle - your aunts husband
Uncle - your dads friend thats living with you to help raise you and your twin sister
Uncle - your moms special friend while your dad fightin in Iraq
Uncle - Bob's your uncle
Uncle - uncle Sam and uncle Tom too
...

I'm sure they have a word for these. If you look deeper you will always find the specific restrictive words in english. I believe English is just aiming for general use and easy understanding because it's international now.

They do, but most of those words are old english and have died out and btw. jez i was making a joke.
