Now i know there are several posts like this, I would like to say I love the game you guys did a great job, although i had a few ideas. I know you arn't planning on adding new base units BUT my thoughts were adding some of the rare units available for purchase according to the strategy your useing. Like Sky menace clearly about air power maybe they could be able to buy fights or guerilla warfare should be able to buy partisans. Now I understand that some would argue it would make some strategies too strong, but i think that this would counter balance them all. You know like if two players are useing Sky Menace it would be evenly matched with dogfights and such. If they have different strategies Each one would be stronger and weaker in some ways to balance it out. Though if it doesn't exactly work out this way im sure you guys could think of something your very smart lads clearly.

My suggestions for Strategies and the rare units they should be able to buy are as follows. (some of them are completely new to fit the strategies)

Sky Menace- Fighters
Guerilla Warefare- Partisans
Tank General (and blitzkrieg)- Light tanks
Desert Storm- Maybe a sort of Transport helicopter suggested in the other posts
Naval Commander-Cruisers

The remaining strategies that wouldn't get rare units could perhaps get tweaked alittle to not be over powered by the ones that do get the rare units. Thank you for reading i would love some feedback and i would love to see this implimented into the game or atleast considered, I Kind of feel the strategies don't really make as big a difference as they should this would fix that, Also The rare units now are so random this would kind of even that out i suppose. I think this would be a wonderful addition like i said not really adding a lot of base units just tweaking the strategies mostly. What do you guys think?

Well i feel that what i have suggested isn't too far "out there" and i think it would add the perfect amount of varity that i feel this game needs as of now. Also If your strategy comes with a rare unit that you can buy it lowers your chance of finding them. To be honest i HATE some of the rare units out there but LOVE others. hmmm and That isn't a bad idea but i really wanted this idea to be considered so i didn't want to add a lot of new units.

This would add another aspect to choosing a strategy, the question is, do the mods want picking a strategy to have that much effect on each character or do they want the strategies to stay at the amount of influence they have now?

That is the question, I feel like the strategies right now just give very small bonuses and perks. I think they should have much more of an effect, That way the player has to use his brain not only to use HIS strategy correctly but use it correctly against his enemies strategy. Right now you can pick ANY strategy and just spam units and win.

Yes but i didn't suggest anything for MoS for a reason i don't think it should get anything it is fine the way it is in my opinion. Stealth Transports would make it way too easy to take someones capital by surprise.

Well as i said i would really love for this idea to be atleast considered being put into the game but stealth transports? i don't see that being implimented and personally i love master of stealth but stealth transports makes it way too easy and boosts that strategy way too much, besideds as they said they don't want to add new base units, my idea used mostly rare units that are already in the game.

I like fighters and think they should be a base unit. High atk/def vs air and very low vs ground. Cruisers would also be an interesting base unit.
The others, IDK. GW already has strong militia - how would partisans be different? There are already transport planes, how would transport helis for DS be different?

They already made DS helicopters able to transport marines I think. That part was old. I am talking about Partisans as in the rare unit partisans. Stealth unit, very high attack and very low def and less mobile then marines.

Alright since this was very old post so I am simply going to revise it alittle as follows.

Sky Menace- Fighters
I would say that fighters be a base unit and not only available to SM. If it was then what would compell them to use it? Of course SM fighters get bonuses but at the same time haveing to defend from other fighters could balance this strat out alittle more.

Guerilla Warefare- Partisans
Ok I think this should be the same as proposed. Guerilla Warfare players can buy Partisans (rather then marines.) Partisans can be the same cost as marines now or atleast close. (80ish) Their stats would be the same or atleast close. Maybe change them alittle bit to make them better then ones other players can find. Make marines go back to normal. This would make GW play much more hit and run like in real life and it these partisans can't be loaded up into subs and played like MoS so right there is a nerf in a way. It would put you at a disadvantage in that way. This would add more distinction between this and MoS

Tank General(was tank general now RA so this may no longer apply)- Light and Heavy tanks
It would be interesting for them to be able to buy Heavy or light tanks or maybe even both. Of course they would both cost more then regular tanks and have their stats about the same as they are now.


Desert Storm- Maybe a sort of Transport helicopter suggested in the other posts
This has already been done in a way so this no longer applies.

Naval Commander-Cruisers
This could add alittle more dynamic to Naval game play. They can't take cities but they are strong so not sure how this would affect the strat. They would cost more then destroyers obviously.

I think this would add more variety to the game and make it more enjoyable. Right now it is fine and very enjoyable but I do feel there could be more variety in the way of units.

No I am not suggesting adding all these as base units (just the fighter). The way I am suggesting the units mentioned above would only be availabe to purchase if you were useing the suggested stragey.

In the meantime, why not make a custom map, exactly like the world map, but with fighters? Or maybe this has already been done? I mean without other extra units & changes; just the fighters added.

Dude this is excactly what I thought of doing at work. I am getting ready to get started. I also had some more thoughts. The curisers are basically destroyers but on steroids and can't take cities. So that isn't a great idea.

I have think that right now AW is a skeleton of a game so to speak. As I said I would propose the fighters be thrown in as a base unit (perhaps even to replace Anti-air). They say they don't want to add new base units but the fighter is already a rare unit, why? I think it should be a base unit. Tweaked alittle of course. Give it maybe 3 att and 4 def with a defence bonus of 3-4 against other aircraft. Also tweak bombers and give them a negative 3-4 defence bonus against fithers. This way they are only really effective against other aircraft in offence and defence. Of course better range then bombers and SM bombers are less vulnerable and fighters are stronger. I would even go as to add that MoS fighters are same stats as normal just they are +50 cost and stealth.

Another idea (instead of cruisers for NC, that seems kind of useless) that has been suggested before but I can see why it isn't implimented, It is rather tricky. An aircraft carrier as a base unit. I would also love to see it as a base unit it in the future. Maybe 1 att and 8 defence. (+3 def against bombers and -2 against subs and destroyers). If it is possible make it like a mobile city, every 2 turns it can produce 5 bombers and fighters. It can also act as transport and carry a total of 10 of each. They will of course be expensive and maybe limit a player to a total number of 5. NC of course could boost this unit. Maybe set it off the coast and let it provide aircraft in close vicinity to where you're attacking instead of haveing to produce them far away and fly them. Of course that would be really hard to impliment and that would really change the way some games are played.

As I said I still feel GW should be able to produce partisans instead of marines as proposed above. I do intend to try to make some of these units in a scenario to test how it plays out and if it is possible to make the aircraft carrier. Anyway, if I want this taken even alittle seriously I need to test it and get feedback from others, especially skeptics.

I have created such scenario and tested the fighters a bit. Still some bugs to work out but simply what I proposed above does exactly what they are supposed to do with no real balance issue. I also implimented the partisans (for GW players) and they are pretty straight forward as I didn't really change their stats. As far as the aircraft carrier I couldn't really do that one but I am not giveing up. Anyone interested in testing this with me feel free to PM me. I am always looking for more feedback on this.

I tested some of the changes with Northernstar, I have to say I liked the idea of using fighters to stop pesky bomber spams. I think it'd be great to have some advanced tactics going on for that extra depth in game.

The changes are very balanced and I'd like to see this implemented into the game play.

I have to say that the Fighter would be a much better unit than Anti-Air, instead of having almost useless Anti-Air in specific cities that you'll maybe make once and never look back it since it's lost it's purpose...
Fighters in my opinion should replace Anti-Air as they're both mobile and can cause a SM player quite some damage as a counter to Bomberspam.

The map isn't public, meaning I have to be online and actually initiate it. The stats are still in the works. As of now there is only one issue I am haveing with them. I have to figure out how to havethe fighters go first in a city with infantry. Right now if you attack a city with bombers and fighter escorts and the defender has fighters the fighters should go first. As of now they aren't. I think I know how to fix that though without makeing them stronger against ground units.

I also have implimented the partisans in the map. Everyone can buy them as of now but they have (GW) next to them becuase as I proposed only GW players should be able to buy them instead of marines. Like I said the figher is a much better unit then Anti- air and that is kind of my idea is to replace it with something better. I also threw in MoS fighters and SM fighters. Again under the same principle. Sincethe strats don't effect the stats of now I wanted to throw that in so if you were SM just buy SM fighters for the stat bonus, to see what happens then. MoS fighters are basic stats just they are stealth and more expensive.

Thanks for the support guys. If the testing keeps going good I may try to get someone to pay attention to this.

So I joined what looked like a quick EU+ game the other day and it had buildable fighters. Any idea what map this was? Yours?
Another thought: would fighters cause DS to be even less powerful? It's already fairly easy to counter heli stacks with bombers...

The map is called "Wider Europe", made by sinaco. It has fighters and a few more cities and countries than EU+. I played it the other day. It was hosted by sinaco. We were allies but he ended up taking my cites while the 2 others ganged up on me...
So if you play his map, watch out for him!

No that wasn't mine, obviously. Sorry that happened to you man. Yeah i would imagine it would make DS alittle harder to play. Maybe there is something we could to to help DS alittle if it becomes too easily defeated.
