But i'll still answer since it is easy and doesn't require flame war: Navalny is a criminal, by Russian law, that mean he is unable to run for political function, Russia believe that is democratic and just thing to do (me as well). About tsaristic pulses, idk what that means, maybe you think of EEU, which is copy of EU, so i don't see imperial ambitions there, otherwise EU is imperial as well (if not, then you're using double-standards & doublethink).

I am mocking West and western democracy because i lived through time when they boasted freedom and aforementioned democracy while my country and countries around mine collapsed and disintegrated (USSR, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia), only to suck them into new authoritarian union. It supported and louded eastern european referendums while used propaganda (in the UK) and violence (Catalonia) to stop secession.

Referendum was in 2016, they said they will trigger article 50 in 2017, settlement starts in 2019, that mean they will officially leave 20something, and will use excuses like 'clean slate with the EU', they will invent all sort of things just to discourage people and hold another referendum which will either be rigged or tired people voting remain only to remove the issue from their daily lives (which is now being shoved upon them by liberal media as a problem and danger).

It is normal to tolerate any lecture from any westerner for you, because we were both closed societies during Cold War, you didn't use to hear the other side, only likeminded people for the whole second half of 20th century. It will take time for you folks to acknowledge easterners as equal and valid opinions & stands.

I find that annoying that John Oliver and Bill Maher entirely ignore counter arguments even when there is person in front of them making them. But I like them both they make good TV and raise important questions and subjects even though Bill tends to bullie guests and just try to shame them sometimes and bring puppets to help him. The Interview with Howards professor for instance was very provocative because he accedintly called him a nigger but it was full of contect and generally intersting to watch. And even though its 1 hour episode i watched it again right after it was over even though i knew along alk season he is kinda biased. The level of content worths it after all
