Anyone have any idea when the DLCs are going on sale? Cuz the game's getting a bit stale, and I need more DLCs (I have only AoW and CS) :/

If you don't want to be a pirate buy legit steam keys on g2a.Com for super cheap. They had a eu4 edition with all current dlc for 18.99

And get scammed 60% of the time. G2A resells stolen keys bought from stolen CCs, and if you don't spend extra to get shield the seller can just scam you and get away with it. It's a very shady scam. If you want to get games cheaply just check isthereanydeal.com or cheapshark.com.

Not bad as me. >Starts as Japanese OPM with 2k troops and quarter ducat income, surrounded by larger rivals >Only weaklings willing to ally me >Sees a comet (If only we had comet sense) >2 months later King falls off his horse like a fucking retard >Now in regency for 13 years for a 0/1/0 heir and -2 stability >Bad event pops up because of this >10k rebels pop up in my only province, stack wiping my puny army a fifth of their size. >Ally tries to help me. >Gets Stack wiped too. >Rage quit as the date was 18th June 1445...Not even a year had passed :/

Having an amusingly successful Brandenburg run, with glorious border-gore, so thought I'd share it. Originally planned to form Prussia, but accidentally acquiring Emperorship of HRE changed that (If I convert to Protestant, I lose Emperorship). Bohemia and the Palatinate were my allies, and I never changed from voting for myself. So even though Austria had an adult male heir, I ended up being elected Emperor. I might unite the HRE just for the achievement, but I doubt it (Don't care much about earning achievements). I'm thinking of staying and fighting on the side of the Catholics during the League Wars, and I allow the Peace of Westphalia to fire, instead of selecting religious supremacy in the peace treaty. After which I convert to Protestant, and form Prussia, and go on a rampage with my Spess Mehreens. I force-vassalized Novgorod as a two-province minor, and fed it back its cores from Muscovy. I forced Poland to release Moldovia (and diplo-vassalized it) and in a following war, release Lithuania. I allied an RM'ed Lithuania hoping to use them against Poland next war (With Austria becoming an unreliable ally), but I hadn't noticed they had a 59 year old King, and no heir when I RM'ed them. 7 years after breaking free from Poland, they fell under Glorious Brandenburgian Rule (although the Burgundese scum tried to contest it). It's a very a-typical game, in that England's War of the Roses ended in 1482 with a Clifford taking the throne, Byzantium beating back the Turks, France losing to England, then Burgundy, before making a comeback, and the Ottomans not really war-mongering (Seriously, last 11 years, they've fought no wars even though they have high manpower and no loans), Venice added themselves to the HRE under me, the Shadow Kingdom event didn't fire at game start or in 1490 (Seriously, wtf?) and Sweden broke free from Denmark early - obviously a big mistake

Sucks it's not more like ck2 there shattered mod can be choose from either shatter each into an empire such as Frankish ERE and Arab Empires, to kingdoms like bohemia, and poland, to duchies like Normandie and naples, to 1 province counts.

I played a full game as Hungary with my prestige and legitimacy both close to 100 and not a single time did my dynasty reach my rivals, much less get a PU. Do I need a certain DLC or something?

You can't RM rivals to get your dynasty on their throne. You can do it with allies though. The trick is to be lucky af. I was playing a Spain game and forced France to release a massive Gascony (97% warscore) with 100+ dev. I RM'ed and allied them and saw that if their King died I'd straight up inherit them, no PU or claim throne. I had legitimacy and prestige at 100, zero OE, less AE since I was pursuing a colonization game, high diplo-rep from events and advisors and high papal authority. I was also their only RM partner. I didn't inherit them in the end since they got an heir () but I could have. I checked the PDX forums and this is apparently very rare. Like Muscovy inheriting Denmark before 1500s rare (someone did it). I have only 2 DLCs; Art of War and Common Sense. Besides Hungary isn't that great a country for getting PU's as, say Austria, or France or Castille.

Yeah I meant allies sorry. But I really never get any PUs, I only got one as Moscuvy over Sweden. My prestige is usually extremely high while my legitimacy may sometimes waver but overall is very good. I guess the game just hates me... in my recent Mongolia game I keep getting shitty rulers with like 1/1/2 stats and it's terrible

Lol the craziest shit for me was when Mazovia broke free from Poland in about 1530 and about 3 decades later became Emperor, ate up the whole of Poland, and had started eating Sweden and Lithuania before I put a stop to it xaxa Sometimes the AI plays better than the players (Albania eating 2 provinces of Hungary before being eaten by Ottomans)

It's because I always play really aggressive and blob like crazy with lot of AW with neighbours. I always go for at minimum 80%+ warscore peace (war exhaustion isn't such a big deal with Defender of the Faith bonuses) as much as I can, and I tend to break the powerful nations early. Oftentimes I may even have multiple wars going on. My record was as France, declaring eleven separate wars on the entire HRE, co-belligerizing everyone and full-annexing the entire HRE in one go. 600% OE and a lot of rebels, but nothing my Élan couldn't take care of But because of my playstyle, really weird shit happens in my games. Like I've never ever seen Scotland or England colonizing, and even when I colonize late (starting around 1520s-30s) often I'll still be the first to Cuba and Mexico and South Africa with Castille and Portugal still dicking around in Arguin and Cape Verde, recovering from me taking all their dosh and as much clay as I could On one of my favorite runs, Castille went bankrupt once, the Ottomans thrice, England broke to rebels and Wales and Northumberland became independent, and Portugal was in so much financial trouble, they had taken economic ideas instead of exploration

Both are good games, depends on what you're preference is, I'd say HOI4 is more about troop micromanagement, whereas EU4 is kind of an easier game, and less battlefield immersive and more territorial one, sort of, but not thaat much. My advice would be to watch videos of both xd, Arumba's a good youtuber
