After recently ranking up from r4 to r5 AtWar has become a game I can effectively, no longer play. The treatment of rank 5 players (and in some cases rank 6 and 7) in the main lobby is horrible, its been days sense ive played a game without being kicked for not being a higher level considering I can no longer play in the beginners lobby. For example: I joined a WWI game the other day, and after being kicked for choosing countries I would actually enjoy playing (Nothing crazy, Ottoman Empire and Italy) I decided to be more subtle in choosing my countries in a desperate attempt to be overlooked and play a game. I ended up choosing Serbia and before the game even started 3 players had complained that "Rank 5 in this game is a joke" and I was kicked within minutes of joining.

After seeing the kind of treatment that midrank players recieve ive observed that the majority of the AtWar community is simply garbage. Its hard to join any lobby without being told to leave, getting kicked, or being called a noob or any other names. Im tired of being kicked from every game i try and join for simply existing, no matter how small of a country I pick. I will admit there are many people who are sympathetic to low levels, but I still can't play any games short of a Europe+ game. Scenario games are simply impossible, people can't get better to play with you if you don't let them play. Something needs to be done and to that I say this.

It dosent matter if one player on your team is a weak link, a quick game at most will last an hour, one game, one hour out of the hundreds of games you will play has little effect on you, but how you react has negative effects on the people who are just trying to learn the game, if you don't like a rank 5 on your team than you can leave, don't hurt the people who want to play the game. Something needs to change.

Out of 10 rank 5s one won't leave in the first 5 turns, that's why there is elitism. I have also said this before if your a low rank and are a good player you won't be a low rank for long. Loyalty to the game also has a lot to do with it, alot if us high ranks are addicted to this shit, most rank 5s and down see it just as a game, so they join we let them play they don't wall, they build tanks they lose tanks there out of money, then turn 4 starts and they leave to try the same bullshit somewhere else, I'm sorry but rank ism exists because most low ranks don't give a fuck about anyone, sorry they ruin your fun. A week's experiment of playing as a rank 3/4/5 guest account demonstrates that low-ranks are not discriminated against too much (I will admit that I was kicked a couple times for being a R3/4 player during this week). I strongly disagree about dividing the player-base into three rooms. Ridiculous! Even with just two rooms, with everybody from rank 5 to 13 playing in the same room, games struggle to fill in my time zone. Barring a massive increase in the number of players, splitting the R5+ community into two rooms will ensure I never get to play a good scenario again. Also, GamerCady, if you want people to take you seriously, perhaps consider more formal language and provide more substantial evidence. Referencing groups of people by stereotypical and derogatory nomenclature is an excellent way of guaranteeing that you insult everyone and dissuade people from listening to you. लदान... लदान...

But atleast 50% for lowranks would improve if highranks let them play, but they arent giving them the chance, so 90% of lowranks cant improve while other 10% goes under difficult selection process eventually turning high ranking troll. Not to mention how many are discouraged and start playing RP/UN/Political because they accept them. If you do come to the Main Lobby, do not expect the high-ranks to spend time playing against you. They are usually seeking to play against people of similar level of skill - which rank 3s almost always aren't. Perhaps try understanding the other side of the issue before acting like an idiot. If you don't put those 10% of low ranks willing to be in the competitive seen in with the high ranks, they wouldn't progress at all and either turn to RP because of boredom or get beaten up in the competitive seen as supposedly developed high ranks rather than growing low ranks. Now I expect some of those ''you are rankist you host high leveled games'' comments, but the fact is even though 3v3s and 1v1s are often limited to high ranks when hosted when high ranks; other games aren't. Jedi, do you still have those calculations around? What I'm saying, there are other ways to allow low ranks to gain skill. Instead of facing the cliff wall of R9+ straight from the outset, it will probably be better for a new player to start by playing against someone slightly better. Since a R3 player isn't going understand the full subtleties of advanced strategy, playing against people who use such strategies are pointless. That player will learn much more from playing against Rank 4s or 5s, because then he can actually understand everything he sees. लदान... लदान...

Something definitely needs to be done about this, though I'm not sure making a 3rd room for intermediates is the answer. Maybe making it a rule that you can't specifically target or kick a player based on his rank would help.
