I know there are still may hours until the opening ceremonies, but I cannot contain my excitement.

Let the international smack talking begin! Only in the olympics will Americans turn into watch the exciting sport of synchronized swimming!

Where else can the USA express our clear athletic superiority?

Also the University of Florida has 37 athletes competing, representing 14 different countries!

You can barely imagine how seriously I take them.

I still think the olympics seem kind of boring

Your statement isn't even correct, nor funny. 95% of the US Olympic athletes in the winter Olympics are white, hardly representing our ethnic diversity. The summer Olympics reflect this diversity more accurately.

The only thing Canada wins in in the Summer Games is rowing, canoeing and kayaking. You can tell we have the most lakes.....

The opening ceremony was pretty cool, just as spectacular as the bejing olympics, and had tons more character and variety, i think it illustrated the united kingdom pretty nicely.

I disagree.

Ok maybe not as spectacular, and probably confusing to some people (eg. the industrial revolution part, and the farms and shit was just stereotypical england rofl) but it was defo an ambitious attempt at showing everything the uk offers or has done before, and they pulled it off quite nicely.

It wasn't bad, I just prefer the style which the Chinese approached it with. Also, our cultures are too similar for me to really be interested.

I think you mean the People's Republic of China. Now it doesn't sound like a big deal but "The Republic of China" is the official name for Taiwan.

~I love NBC. I mean who the fuck wants to watch the olypics live? I'd rather watch sitcoms all day and watch reruns from 5 hours ago GMT. Hell even opening ceremony! For fucks sake I had to pirate the opening ceremony in some slavic speak because NBC wouldn't even air it live online. At least they don't spoil the races untill... Oh wait no they do that too.
