I have seen a lot of suggestions regarding duels and would just like to add a couple more. I personally have not participated in as many duels as I could have due to the problems talked about below.

1) Add a "fair" duel option, which allows both players to play without any SP purchased upgrades. This will allow for fairer matches between high ranks and low ranks and would be a better reflection of ones skills. (The higher ranks should still win because of experience though).

One caveat to that approach is the SP bought strategies. Perhaps allowing all strategies in a "fair" duel would be an easy way to deal with that.

2) Game cannot be started until the challenger (non host) also clicks start. This would stop the challenge starting before the challenger at least gets to accept the rules.

And below are just some bonus ones, that are not problematic but could improve the duel experience.

3) Alternate duel creation methods. One would be via a PM. I.e. I send a duel challenge to player X (maybe by a /duel command or via clicking on username). Player X gets a message saying that I want to duel them. In that message there is an accept/reject button. If they click accept a duel room is created and we are both moved into it. We set the rules and start playing.
* Challenges messages would require another channel called "duel" that can be switched on/off like the other channels and is switched off by default when in a game. This duel channel could be like the private messaging system rather than public.
* Challenge would expire after n seconds, when the challenger enters a game or when the player being challenged clicks reject.

4) Quick match duel button, pairs you with someone else looking for a duel.

Ah a search for number 1 was fruitless, no doubt different language to what I searched for. The others I just kept adding as I typed. I would also support adding all upgrades as opposed to taking them all away.

Agree with your points regarding 4. There aren't usually enough people on that new games aren't in the large rectangles of the first lobby screen. But if the player base was to expand it would be a convenient way to join a duel.
