They're fun and add a new dynamic, something competitive desperately needs. Yet this feature has been discarded without any proper testing. I ask people why and get no solid answer. I'm just vaguely told "they're noob".

It looks to me like people are just afraid of change. Id like to see them made compulsory for the next season - no option to disable. Dave went to the effort of adding them so we should give them a proper testing before deciding if they're bad or not. We had them on in a cw and i found it fun.

I use them in my duels and ask people to enable them in cws , though a majority decline to have buildings in the game.
Even though they've seen limited use in my games , they were sometimes a game changer.

Personally I like the idea and use them. But I do think a few are a bit haphazard in their design vs price.

For those who feel that buildings are useless, then enable them anyway, someone else will find a use for them

Because to kill the dam fort I need to kill first the 50 units in it that will already have the +1 def buff from it.

I always turn them on. We suggested in the past to remove the choice to make them optional. Force everyone to use them this way there are no exceptions.

Also gen gives at almost all units +1 attack too.

Buildings are great for adding flavor to scenario maps. There use during general world map battles can be... mixed to say the least, especially when the sheer cost of them makes them unfavorable to your income especially in low starting cash games. Buildings in scenarios can help make interesting factions that can spam 100s of troops every reinforcement turn or create hard to take choke points with a variety of different forts and defensive fortifications. In scenarios, they also can be set to cost as much as a normal solider so that you do not extremely cripple yourself by trying to improve the overall production and defenses of your cities/capitals.

8 infs for 1400 cost isn't close to a good deal for me, especially if they can't move

+100 def including crits. Also not everyone has infinite reinfs to make those 16 INF. Especially countries like turk or ukr could make a fort very easy. We already are in favor of boring stack cities defend passive play no need for more. We actually need opposite.

I am not the one to ask....
I would just add a building/unit that can snipe forts at same or 3/4 of forts price or even 2/4 that would be missle count as air unit and would always snipe any building expect if there is mobile AA in the city. It's actually very logical and real. Also would make bombers and stealth have bonus attack vs buildings so they always attack them first. That would make huge sense...give more power to SM and change the game meta completely. Would be pretty interesting to see. I would suggest the use of test server to see extreme things like this how they would play out. At this point test server is used to use the new calculator that I don't fucking understand why it wasn't made using current rolls system and published in live servers. Anyway not in any meta team so not my business, I just say what I would do.

Buildings are a nice idea, there's so much potential around it, but right now it's not that balanced and gives some countries an unfair advantage as the game goes. In my opinion first of all buildings should only be limited to 1 per country, in the capital. And 2nd of all buildings shouldn't be able to do what other units can do. Don't give them defense, AA capability, etc.. That's just stupid. Instead make them provide new features and mechanics. The money and reinf thing is already a good start. Now we can add things like range buffs or a defense/crit bonus for the stack like the general. This makes much more sense to me, and actually seems worth the big price tag.

If it were me I'd make it so the max buildings you can make in a game is 3 or 5 to make their use more strategic and planned. But right now they are not fun to play.

Ww1 does not have buildings and thats the only thing you ever played and will likely ever play soo


I also play colonial and ww2, both also don't have buildings.

but also, on world map I still hate buildings
